Day 5

 Nuestro viaje ha acabado con una excursión para visitar el Cementerio Americano de Normandía, el Cementerio de guerra alemán de La Cambe, el Memorial y las playas del desembarco de Normandía en Caen. Hemos ido con los alumnos de 4ºESO que habían estado trabajando en el proyecto que ya comentamos el día anterio. Ha sido muy interesante tanto para ellos como para nosotras: para los alumnos como forma de culminar su trabajo acudiendo al lugar real de los hechos, y para nosotras para observar todo lo que habían aprendido y visitar estos lugares con tanta historia. 

Our trip has ended with an excursion to visit the Normandy American Cemetery, the German War Cemetery of La Cambe, the Memorial and the Normandy landing beaches in Caen. We have gone with the 4th ESO students who had been working on the project that we discussed the day before. It has been very interesting both for them and for us: for the students as a way to complete their work by going to the real place of the events, and for us to observe everything they had learned and visit these places with so much history.

Day 4

Como ya explicamos anteriormente, el instituto que estamos visitando forma parte del Proyecto CHAM (Clases con Horarios Adaptados de Música). Los alumnos se benefician de clases de instrumento (cualquier instrumento posible), formación musical (en el Colegio y en el Conservatorio), talleres (entre estudiantes del CHAM) práctica colectiva (orquesta y conjunto del conservatorio). 

La música está muy presente de forma práctica en el día a día de este alumnado, tanto en su horario escolar como por la tarde en el Conservatorio.

As we explained earlier, the institute we are visiting is part of the CHAM Project (Classes with Adapted Music Schedules). Students benefit from instrument classes (any possible instrument), musical training (at the College and at the Conservatory), workshops (among CHAM students) and collective practice (orchestra and conservatory ensemble). Music is very present in a practical way in the daily life of these students, both in their school hours and in the afternoon at the Conservatory.

También nos han mostrado cómo funciona el programa “Aula de Convivencia” y el departamento de jefatura de estudios con su equipo de educadores o asistentes educativos que son las personas que trabajan con el alumnado cuando no está recibiendo clases.

Los asistentes educativos se encargan de tareas como gestionar las ausencias y los retrasos, vigilar el aula de estudio y los recreos.

El alumnado según elija su familia , puede salir o no del instituto cuando un profesor se ausenta, los horarios no son los mismos para todos los grupos de la ESO, así que siempre debe el alumnado llevar su cuaderno de correspondencia para que el equipo de educadores puedan llevar a cabo su labor.

They have also shown us how the "Aula de Convivencia" program works and the Department of Head of Studies with its team of educators or educational assistants who are the people who work with the students when they are not receiving classes. Educational assistants are responsible for tasks such as managing absences and tardies, monitoring the study room and breaks. The students, depending on their family's choice, may or may not leave the institute when a teacher is absent, the schedules are not the same for all ESO groups, so the students must always carry their correspondence notebook so that the team of educators can carry out their work.

                                              

El programa, traducido del francés "programa relevo" es una sección más de colegio donde el alumnado en riesgo de abandono escolar de la comarca o con problemas con la justicia vienen a cursar sus estudios obligatoriso de una manera diferente al resto del alumnado , donde trabajan la reinserción social, el trabajo de la autoestima , la responsabilidades civiles, etc. Un maestro con una formacón específica ayudado de un par de educadores y de la asistenta social del centro.

Su tarea de hoy entre otra, era cocinar una tarta de fresa, entre otras cosas. La sección consta de un aula tradicional, con un rincón multimedia y un taller. Por otra parte una sala de estar con cocina.

The program, translated from the French "relay program" is another section of the school where students at risk of dropping out of school in the region or with problems with the law come to complete their compulsory studies in a different way from the rest of the students, where they work social reintegration, self-esteem work, civil responsibilities, etc. A teacher with specific training helped by a couple of educators and the center's social worker. His task today, among others, was to cook a strawberry cake, among other things. The section consists of a traditional classroom, with a multimedia corner and a workshop. Furthermore a living room with kitchen.

En la Biblioteca los alumnos de 4ºESO estaban preparando su prueba oral de fin de estudios. Es un examen que tienen que hacer al acabar sus estudios, y consiste en presentar un tema sobre el que han investigado durante 15 minutos. Trabajan en ello durante todo el año, y como se ve en la foto la Biblioteca es el mejor sitio para buscar información. 

In the Library, the 4th ESO students were preparing their end-of-study oral test. It is an exam that they have to take when they finish their studies, and it consists of presenting a topic they have researched for 15 minutes. They work on it throughout the year, and as you can see in the photo, the Library is the best place to look for information.

 

Day 3

 Hoy hemos observado las clases de idiomas: Inglés como primera lengua extrangera y Español como segunda. La dinámica de clase nos ha gustado mucho. Empiezan repasando con una ruleta de preguntas "Wheel of names" y después en grupos de 4 practican los contenidos a través de juegos.

Today we have observed the language classes: English as the first foreign language and Spanish as the second. We liked the class dynamics a lot. They begin by reviewing with a "Wheel of names" question roulette and then in groups of 4 they practice the contents through games.

En la clase de español estuvimos con los alumnos trabajando una comprensión escrita sobre Cuba que era una introducción a la película que van a ver en los próximos días.

Day 1

 La directora Valerie Creton del "Collège Jacques Monod" de Laval, en La Mayenne, nos ha recibido hoy y mostrado sus instalaciones, invitándonos a sus clases de Música y Lengua Española. Hemos conocido al equipo docente de unos 40 profesores/as y al resto de personal que incluye una enfermera, un equipo psicomédicosocial, departamento de convivencia, departamento de acompañamiento de alumnado NEAE, y departamento de bliblioteca. Nos ha llamado la atención que la mitad del personal del centro no son profesores/as  y que cada uno desempeña una función específica.

The director Valerie Creton of the "Collège Jacques Monod" de Laval, in La Mayenne, received us today and showed us her facilities, inviting us to her Music and Spanish Language classes. We have met the teaching team of about 40 teachers and the rest of the staff that includes a nurse, a psychomedical-social team, the coexistence department, the NEAE student support department, and the library department. It has caught our attention that half of the center's staff are not teachers and that each one performs a specific function.

Hemos visitado el aula de Música donde estaban ensayando cada uno con su instrumento. Los alumnos/as pertenecen al proyecto CHAM, que trabaja conjuntamente con el Conservatorio. A esta clases

 sólo asisten los alumnos/as que están apuntados también al Conservatorio. Es una completamente práctica y les sirve de apoyo a su formación musical. 

We have visited the music classroom where each one was rehearsing with their instrument. The students belong to the CHAM project, which works together with the Conservatory. to this classes Only students who are also enrolled in the Conservatory attend. It is completely practical and supports their musical training.

También nos han invitado a la clase de Lengua Española con un grupo de 4ºde ESO. Como veis, cada profesor/a tiene su aula y es el alumnado quien se desplaza de una a otra. La profesora de español aprovechó nuestra presencia para trabajar la expresión y comprensión oral. 

We have also been invited to the Spanish Language class with a group of 4th ESO. As you can see, each teacher has their classroom and it is the students who move from one to another. The Spanish teacher took advantage of our presence to work on oral expression and comprehension.

Day 2

 En Francia trabajan con el alumnado que tiene algua discapacidad a través de las Unidades Localizadas para la inclusión escolar (ULIS), que permiten la educación de estos alumnos dentro de las escuelas ordinarias. Ofrecen oportunidades de aprendizaje flexibles y diversificadas, y una educación adaptada. Su horario se divide en clases con su grupo de referencia y clases con el grupo específico como se ve en la foto.

In France, they work with students with disabilities through Localized Units for School Inclusion (ULIS), which allow the education of these students within ordinary schools. They offer flexible and diversified learning opportunities and adapted education. Your schedule is divided into classes with your reference group and classes with the specific group as seen in the photo.

Con los alumnos de 3º y 4ºESO del programa ULIS, hemos visitado la Universidad de Oficios de Artesanía, que ofrece formación profesional básica de Grado Medio y Superior, como estética y peluquería, construcción, electricidad, electrónica y mecánica, así como panadería, carnicería, charcutería y catering. Todas las instalaciones estaban muy bien dotadas de materiales y el alumnado que estudia allí suele tener un trabajo asegurado. 

With the 3rd and 4th ESO students of the ULIS program, we have visited the University of Craft Trades, which offers basic intermediate and advanced professional training, such as aesthetics and hairdressing, construction, electricity, electronics and mechanics, as well as bakery, butchery, delicatessen and catering. All the facilities were very well equipped with materials and the students who study there usually have a guaranteed job.

También hemos visto cómo trabajan la Educación Artística, donde disponen de un aula específica y Tecnología. En Tecnología están realizando un proyecto pluridisciplinar donde tienen que hacer un vídeo en "slow motion" sobre la Segunda Guerra Mundial y que culmina con una excursión a las playas del Desembarco de Normandía en Caen.

We have also seen how Artistic Education works, where they have a specific classroom and Technology. In Technology they are carrying out a multidisciplinary project where they have to make a "slow motion" video about the Second World War and that culminates with an excursion to the Normandy Landing beaches in Caen.

Erasmus + KA101: Penúltima parada: Laval (Francia)/ Next-to-the-last stop: Laval (France)

En esta ocasión, vamos a aprender aspectos relacionados con aprendizaje basado en proyectos, biblioteca escolar, atención a la diversidad y metodología CLIL en un centro francés, concretamente en el Colllège Jacques Monod situado en Laval. Dos profesoras de nuestro centro han viajado hasta allí para aprender y compartir con todos nosotros los conocimientos adquiridos.

This time, we are going to learn different aspects related to project-based learning, school library, diversity in the classroom and CLIL at a French school, especifícally, the school Collège Jacques Monod located in Laval. Two teachers have travelled there to learn and share with all of us the adquiere knowledge.
