Day 2. Bee my friend Tourcoing

 En nuestro segundo día hemos hecho por la mañana una reunión de trabajo sobre el proyecto definiendo las líneas de actuación y las próximas actividades que desarrollaremos en nuestro centros.

On our second day, we held a work meeting in the morning to define the project's lines of action and the upcoming activities that we will implement at our schools.

Después, hemos ido al Collège Pierre Mendès France de educación secundaria. Allí hemos almorzado junto al resto de profesorado y a continuación hemos participado en una mesa redonda junto a alumnado, familias y profesorado del centro sobre la importancia y los beneficios de los intercambios y movilidades internacionales para el alumnado. Esta actividad está enmarcada dentro de los "Erasmus Days" que se celebra esta semana.

Afterwards, we visited the secondary school Collège Pierre Mendès France. There, we had lunch with the other teachers, and then we participated in a roundtable discussion with students, families, and teachers from the school about the importance and benefits of international exchanges and mobility for students. This activity was part of the "Erasmus Days" celebration taking place this week.

Más tarde hemos visitado las colmenas que el alumnado del colegio Albert Camus custodian y sobre las que centran todo su trabajo. El terreno pertenece al ayuntamiento que colabora de esta manera y facilitando material (trajes, etc.) en el proyecto. De vuelta en el colegio de primaria visitamos las instalaciones del mismo y conocemos a parte de su alumnado y profesora en sus aulas.

Later, we visited the beehives that the students from the Albert Camus school care for, which are the focus of their work. The land belongs to the city council, which collaborates by providing materials (suits, etc.) for the project. Back at the primary school, we toured the facilities and met some of the students and teachers in their classrooms.

Para terminar la jornada asistimos a una cena junto al profesorado participante en el proyecto y del claustro del colegio francés.

Day 1. Bee my friend Tourcoing

Comenzamos un nuevo proyecto europeo KA2. Los profesores de inglés, Beatriz, y tecnología, Pedro, hemos viajado a la ciudad francesa de Tourcoing en el primer encuentro del proyecto " Bee my friend". El objetivo de este proyecto es aprender sobre las abejas como elemento esencial para mantener sano nuestros ecosistemas y trabajar sobre ellas en clase. Además de nuestro centro y el anfitrión francés, trabajaremos con centros de Polonia, Grecia, Italia y Lituania. 

We have just started a new European KA2 project. The English teacher, Beatriz, and the Technology teacher, Pedro, travelled to the French city of Tourcoing for the first meeting of the project "Bee My Friend." The goal of this project is to learn about bees as an essential element for maintaining healthy ecosystems and to work on this topic in class. In addition to our school and the French host school, we will collaborate with schools from Poland, Greece, Italy, and Lithuania.

En nuestro primer día, conocimos al resto de profesores participantes en el proyecto en el École élémentaire Albert Camus de Tourcoing. A continuación, recibimos una formación por parte de un apicultor local perteneciente a la misma asociación a la que pertenece el profesor responsable del programa en el colegio. Nos enseñó muchas cosas sobre cómo funcionan las colmenas y los comportamientos de las abejas y sus diferentes roles. Después hicimos una puesta en común sobre cómo se puede trabajar este tema con nuestro alumnado desde todas las áreas de aprendizaje. 

On our first day, we met the other teachers participating in the project at École élémentaire Albert Camus in Tourcoing. Then, we received training from a local beekeeper who belongs to the same association as the teacher in charge of the program at the school. He taught us many things about how beehives work, the behaviors of bees, and their different roles. Afterward, we held a group discussion on how this topic can be worked on with our students across all learning areas.

Después de comer visitamos la ciudad de Tourcoing que cuenta con un museo de bellas artes y un ayuntamiento con mucha historia. Por último, cenamos con el profesor francés con el que compartimos una agradable velada antes de retirarnos a descansar para coger fuerzas para el día siguiente.  

After lunch, we visited the city of Tourcoing, which has a fine arts museum and a town hall with a lot of history. Finally, we had dinner with the French teacher, with whom we shared a pleasant evening before retiring to rest and recharge for the next day.

Bee My Friend: Our new project

 🇪🇺¡Nuevo proyecto Erasmus+ KA2 en marcha!🌍 Dos miembros de nuestro claustro, Pedro y Beatriz, están en Tourcoing (Francia) en el primer encuentro del proyecto "Bee my friend". Además de nuestro centro y del nombrado centro francés también participan colegios de primaria y secundaria de Italia, Grecia, Polonia y Lituania. Hoy han visitado el colegio de primaria Alberto Camus donde han recibido una formación sobre el mundo de las abejas por parte de un apicultor local. Esperamos que vuelvan con nuevas ideas que enriquezcan nuestro proyecto Ecoescuela.
